Oliver Cracks 5 Hits
5 hits in a game has always been a magic number in baseball. Only a handful of players will do that. Get 5 hits in a game and you get your moment of glory... your 5 minutes of fame... you get your name in the record book. Win or lose you get listed.

<Tony Oliver:player#14313> got his name in the record book, but the <Los Angeles Stars:team#76> picked up the win, topping the <San Diego Destroyers:team#271> 6-5.

"Sure, I would have much preferred to win the game, but that's not how it came out. In baseball you win some, lose some and some get rained out," the <San Diego:team#271> first baseman expressed his feelings during the postgame press conference.

He certainly did his part today, pounding out hit after hit.

Later in the clubhouse <Oliver:player#14313> spoke further about his big game, "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got too much adrenaline going when I realized that this was a special once-in-a-lifetime day. On the last hit, I was ready to swing at anything close, I was that excited. That's why my third base coach called time and told me, 'Calm down and wait for a good pitch.' That got me back on track and I nailed the first one in the strike zone."

On his record-setting day <Oliver:player#14313> delivered 5 hits in 6 at-bats, a day that will be good scrapbook material.

<Tony Oliver:player#14313> singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 12th.

Thus far this season in 104 games Oliver is batting .277 with 7 home runs, 43 RBIs and 51 runs scored. He has 114 hits in 412 at-bats.
